Wreaths Across America: Honoring Our Veterans
At Intercity Lines, Inc., we’re not just about transporting the world’s rarest cars; we’re also deeply committed to honoring and remembering those who have served our nation. Wreaths Across America (WAA) presents a unique opportunity each December to pay tribute to our military heroes. This event, involving the laying of wreaths on graves in over 2,400 cemeteries across the United States, symbolizes our collective gratitude and respect for those who have donned the uniform. We are proud to have been able to participate in this year’s laying of the Wreaths with the help of our owner operators Skip & Lisa.
Day 1: A Journey of Remembrance Begins
Our journey with WAA began with Skip and Lisa Durbin, two of our dedicated drivers, loading nearly 6,000 wreaths into their Intercity Lines’ trailer. This year’s mission was particularly poignant, as they were headed to South East Arizona, including cemeteries where Skip’s father and uncle rest.
Day 2: Touching Lives in Tucson and Duncan
The second day was marked by a sense of community and respect. In Tucson, AZ, Skip and Lisa unloaded 251 boxes of wreaths, followed by a heartfelt visit to Duncan, AZ, where they delivered 38 boxes. Each stop was more than a delivery; it was an opportunity to connect with communities, sharing stories and honoring veterans.
Day 3: Final Tributes in Bisbee
The journey culminated in Bisbee, where 93 boxes of wreaths were delivered to their final resting place.
The involvement of Intercity Lines in Wreaths Across America is more than a corporate responsibility; it’s a heartfelt commitment to honoring our nation’s heroes. The journey of Skip and Lisa Durbin with their Intercity Lines Car Carrier is a powerful reminder of the sacrifices made by our veterans.
